My relationship with making started long before I knew I wanted to be a designer. I grew up in Shiraz, Iran, watching my grandmother hand-weave Persian rugs. She would spend years spinning and naturally dyeing yarn before transforming it into intricate motifs, while I sat beside her, fascinated by how something so beautiful could be built one thread at a time. Naturally, I started trying to make things of my own.

At nine, I moved to Turkey, where my father worked as a cutter for a clothing manufacturer. He would bring home leftover fabrics from the factory, and those scraps became my materials for experimenting. I learned by taking things apart, putting them back together, making mistakes, and trying again.

That curiosity eventually led me to pursue a Bachelor of Design in Fashion & Technology, and it still shapes how I work today. My practice brings together research, pattern development, garment construction, and digital tools such as CLO 3D and Adobe Creative Suite to move ideas from concept to product.

I’m especially interested in the space between technical performance and ready-to-wear. I think beyond how a garment looks: How does it move? How does it feel? How does it respond to weather, wear, and everyday life? For me, good design happens when function, thoughtful construction, and a strong aesthetic work together.

I’m also curious about how emerging technologies, particularly 3D design and AI, can expand that process not as a replacement for craft, but as another tool for exploring, testing, and refining ideas.

Outside the studio, you’ll usually find me hiking or biking around Vancouver, or cooking for friends. I think I’m drawn to cooking for the same reason I’m drawn to design: there’s something rewarding about making something with your hands and seeing it become part of someone else’s experience.
